During our review of Krishna Winter 3 ink we found the following characteristics that you might find helpful:<\/p>\n
Testing Factors<\/h2>\n
We used French made Rhodia dot pad paper with a glass dip pen for our review. The dip pen has a writing tip that is similar to a medium-fine fountain pen nib. Different tips, nibs and paper may produce different results.<\/p>\n
Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n
Winter 3 ink comes in Krishna\u2019s standard small 20 ml. glass bottle with basic packaging. However, the old plain cardboard box has been replaced with a new white cardboard box that has a Krishna \u201cWinter 3\u201d label. The new Krishna packaging is slowly coming on all of the Krishna\u2019s ink colors as we get the in stock.<\/p>\n
Cost<\/h2>\n
Krishna Winter 3 ink is a reasonably priced ink option at $9.00 retail. Understanding that each bottle of ink is handcrafted and imported directly from India makes this price quite reasonable.<\/p>\n
Dry Time<\/h2>\n
We found a dry time of approximately 7-10 seconds during our review of Krishna Winter 3 ink. Krishna Winter 3 ink is a medium saturated sheening ink, which will take a bit more time to dry than normal ink colors.<\/p>\n
Bleed Through<\/h2>\n
During normal use we found no bleeding while testing Krishna Winter 3 ink. However, during the cotton swab test, we did find some bleeding using Rhodia paper.<\/p>\n
Feathering<\/h2>\n
We found no feathering during our review of Krishna Winter 3 ink. Even during our water test, there was very little additional feathering.<\/p>\n
Water Test<\/h2>\n
We conducted a water test during our review of Krishna Winter 3 ink where we ran a wet cotton swab after the ink sample had dried for about 3 minutes. The results were significant dark color smearing, but very little line distortion and feathering.<\/p>\n
Shading & Sheening<\/h2>\n
Krishna RC series of inks are known more for their sheening rather than their shading. Although there are some mega sheening inks in the Krishna RC series, we would not categorize Krishna Winter 3 ink one of them. However, during normal use you will see some interesting purple sheen combined with the beautiful dark royal blue color of the ink.<\/p>\n
Conclusions about Krishna Winter-3 Ink<\/h2>\n
Krishna Winter 3 ink is a magnificent blue sheening ink color that is sure to please. It has a reasonably quick dry time for a sheening, medium-high saturation ink. However, due to it being a sheening ink, you should take extra steps to make sure you properly clean your pen periodically (we recommend every two weeks or more frequently) to avoid any unwanted clogging. Also the Dr. has suggested that you may even want to dilute Krishna Winter 3 ink in order to meet your personal needs. This may give you even extra ink for your money.
