Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji Ink is a very unique and popular color from Pilot\u2019s luxury ink line, Iroshizuku. Pilot Iroshizuku ink<\/a> exudes class and quality from its vibrant colors to luxury inkwell bottle. The 24 Pilot Iroshizuku ink colors have been around for a while without any additional new colors. That is going to change in 2019, which we are excited about and looking forward to. In the mean time, many continue to add the Pilot Iroshizuku ink\u00a0to their own personal collections as its well loved and respected in the pen and ink community. Pilot<\/a> also recently reduced the price of the Iroshizuku inks, prompting an increase of sales.<\/p>\n

Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink, also known as Azalea, is a vibrant pink color with some nice traits. It\u2019s a bit lighter than last week\u2019s review of Colorverse Red Shift ink<\/a>, which we categorized as a Red ink. Pink ink may not be an everyday color used by most fountain pen users but is definitely a color that should be in ones ink collection for those special projects, notes, letters, journals or other uses. Iroshizuku. the combination of two Japanese words meaning droplets of color, is one of our favorite inks and we believe you will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n

Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji Review<\/p><\/div>\n

During our review of Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink we found the following traits, which you may find useful when choosing your next ink color:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

With our review we used a J. Herbin glass dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper. The French made glass dip pen has a tip that is similar to a fine-medium fountain pen nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink comes in the very distinctive and loved Pilot Iroshizuku inkwell bottle. The heavy weighted 50 ml. glass bottle is one of the best in the industry with a superior presentation. The small recession at the bottom of the bottle allows for the collection of those last few droplets of ink. The lid is large and faceted, which allows for easy opening and filling of fountain pens. The only critique about the lid is the height is short, making it harder to grip. The outer packaging is very professional and protects the bottle well. Each bottle has a small white label with the name of the ink in both written and scripted Japanese in the approximate color of the ink itself.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink is considered a luxury ink at the top of the ink price spectrum. However, Pilot recently reduced the price of Iroshizuku ink to a $25.00 in the USA. We have even reduced it further, making Iroshizuku ink more of a mid ranged priced ink option. Although the price has been reduced, the quality, vibrant colors, and bottle have not changed.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

During our review of Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink we found a dry time of approximately 7-8 seconds.\u00a0 Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink has a nice medium saturation, which makes the dry time a little longer. Even with the slightly longer dry time, the ink can be used in many situations.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

During normal use, we did not see any bleeding during our review of Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink. However, during the cotton swab test, but only at the test wettest most saturated point, we did find some slight bleed through using Rhodia paper.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

We found no feathering at all during normal use while reviewing Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink. Even during our water test we only saw a slight amount of feathering when a water logged cotton swab was applied to an ink sample.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

Pilot Iroshizuku inks are not waterproof inks. Therefore, we found the normal expected results during our water test, where we ran a wet cotton swab over a dried ink sample of Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink. The results were very slight feathering and line distortion, but significant color smearing.<\/p>\n

Shading and Sheen<\/h2>\n

Most Pilot Iroshizuku inks will produce some nice shading and Tsutsuji ink is no different. The ink will shade from a nice dark pink color to a lighter vibrant pink. These results can be achieved depending on your writing style and the wetness of your nib. Another beautiful feature of the ink is that at its wettest points or with pooled ink, Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink will produce some nice golden sheen. The result is quite stunning when combined with the vibrant pink color.<\/p>\n

Conclusions about Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji Ink<\/h2>\n

You can never go wrong with purchasing any Pilot Iroshizuku ink color. Specifically, Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji ink is a nice vibrant shade of pink that dries reasonably quick and has nice shading and sheening possibilities. The presentation and bottle are one of the best in the ink industry and the price more reasonable than in years past.
