Taccia Sora Ink is one of the 13 colors just introduced in by the Taccia Pen Company<\/a>. Taccia, which has a long standing tradition for producing high quality Japanese writing instruments<\/a> has done a wonderful job in their introduction of ink to the US market. They have just introduced 13 fountain pen inks, which are basic and \u201ctrue colors\u201d as seen by the eyes of a child. The ink flows well and has been manufactured to be pH neutral in order to not damage sensitive resin and celluloid fountain pens. We have been proud to carry Taccia pens since our beginning and are excited about this new line of\u00a0Taccia fountain pen ink<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Taccia Sora ink, or Sky-Blue, is a beautiful shade of turquoise. This light \u201csky blue\u201d color is what you would picture it to be, with a light shade of beautiful blue. It is easy on the eyes with peaceful happy tones.<\/p>\n

Other colors produced by Taccia are: Aka Red; Ao Blue; Cha Brown; Midori Green; Momo Pink; and Daidai Orange, all of which are true basic colors. However, Taccia has produced other colors in the line that are not as traditional: Uguisu Olive Green; Tsuchi Golden Wheat and Ebi Purple Red. We are confident you will love these inks, the way they flow, the color, the packaging and the price.<\/p>\n

Taccia Sora Ink Review<\/p><\/div>\n

During our review of Taccia Sora ink we noticed the following characteristics, which you may find helpful when choosing your next bottle of ink:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

We used Rhodia dot pad paper, with a J. Herbin glass spiral dip pen for our review of Taccia Sora ink. The dip pen has a tip that performs similar to a fine fountain pen nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Size<\/h2>\n

Each bottle of Taccia ink comes in a 40 ml. glass bottle. The shape is similar to but slightly different than a standard Sailor Jentle ink<\/a> bottle. The Taccia ink bottle has a wide mouth lid with a small ink color label on top to identify the color of the ink inside. The packaging is nice and professional with a combination of both Japanese and English words and characters. Each color has a unique picture on the box by renowned Japanese illustrator, Hiroshi Sato, which provides an additional bit of class and sophistication.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Taccia Sora ink as well as all other colors of Taccia fountain pen ink retails for $12.00 in the USA. This makes Taccia ink a economical purchase when choosing your next ink color.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

During our review of Taccia Sora ink we found a reasonable dry time of approximately 7-8 seconds. This fairly quick dry time allows Taccia Sora ink to be used as everyday ink in most situations.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

We found absolutely no bleeding during our review of Taccia Sora ink. Even during the water test and the cotton swab test we found no additional ink bleeding while using Rhodia paper.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

We found no line feathering during our review of Taccia Sora ink. During our water test, we normally see some line distortion and feathering, but with Taccia Sora ink we found no significant additional feathering.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

We conducted a water test during our review of Taccia Sora ink where we ran a wet cotton swab over a dried ink sample. The results were some color smearing, but no real line distortion or feathering, which is pretty unusual for non-water proof ink.<\/p>\n

Shading<\/h2>\n

Taccia Sora ink may shade a bit for you with some darker blue where the ink has more saturation or a wetter line, to a lighter blue color. We did notice some slight shading using the glass dip pen. Other nibs and paper may produce more shading than we experienced.<\/p>\n

Conclusion about the Taccia Sora ink<\/h2>\n

Taccia has put a lot of effort in its new ink colors, which has resulted in a nice professional classy product and packaging. We found Taccia Sora ink, a true sky blue color to perform very well in our review. It is also economically priced, flows well, and is safe for even celluloid and resin fountain pens due to its PH neutrality. Taccia Sora ink would be a nice color to use at the home or office for certain projects, journals, letters and notes. Taccia Sora ink flowed well with nice saturation, which allows it to show up well on paper. Happy Writing from Japan!<\/p>\n
