Krishna Candle Day Ink is a new color in the Krishna Super Rich ink<\/a>. Dr. Sreekumar\u2019s, who hand crafts his inks in India, created the Super Rich series as his standard ink series. Other Krishna ink series include Kot-Massi, an iron gall ink and the Krishna RC series<\/a>, which tend to be super sheening inks.<\/p>\n

Although part of the standard Super Rich ink line. this color has some surprises of its own. There are over 30 Krishna Super Rich Series ink colors and continues to expand. Krishna Candle Day ink is a unique orange color that is not quite bright and vibrant or copper in color. Instead this ink is more of a \u201cburnt orange\u201d color that has had a flame (candle) put to it, making it slightly darker, with some charred effects. There are some dark grey sheen that appears at the wettest portions of our ink review. The burnt orange comes out nice and dark on paper and shows very well.<\/p>\n

Krishna Candle Day Ink Review<\/p><\/div>\n

We found the following traits during our review of Krishna Candle Day ink that you may find helpful:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

For our review of Krishna Candle Day ink we used Rhodia dot pad paper, which is not a super sheening paper with a glass dip pen manufactured by J. Herbin Pen Company. The glass dip pen has a tip that is similar to a fine fountain pen nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

All Krishna inks<\/a> come in a small 20 ml. glass bottle. This is their standard bottle size regardless of the series of ink. The lid is a good size, making it easy to fill a fountain pen. Each bottle has simple packaging and simple labeling, which keeps the costs down.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Krishna Candle Day ink retails for $8.00, as do all Super Rich series of Krishna inks. Other series of Krishna ink, such as Kot-Massi and RC retail for a bit more at $9.00, which is still very reasonable for this imported ink from India.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

The dry time we experienced using Krishna Candle Day ink was a bit longer than other Krishna inks at 11-12 seconds. Still functional for a nicely saturated ink color that you may use with all types of journal, letter and note writing.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

Even though Krishna Candle Day ink has medium saturation, we found absolutely no bleeding during our ink review. Even during the high ink content of the cotton swab test we found no additional bleeding.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

There was no feathering noticed during our review of Krishna Candle Day ink. The lines come out clear, crisp and distinct on Rhodia paper. However, there was some feathering and line distortion during our water test, but only at the wettest portion of the test.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

For this test we run a drenched cotton swab over an ink sample of Krishna Candle Day ink that has dried for about 3 minutes. We found some line distortion and feathering at the wettest points and some significant color smearing throughout the sample lines. Krishna Candle Day ink is not a waterproof ink.<\/p>\n

Shading & Sheening<\/h2>\n

Krishna Candle Day ink is not meant to be a mega sheening ink, but it definitely has a dark grey sheen where the ink is the thickest, which makes for the super cool \u201cburnt orange\u201d color. Additionally, there is significant shading that can be obtained with the right nib and handwriting skills. Krishna Candle Day ink can vary from a light soft orange to a deep dark orange that has a hint of brown or a \u201cburnt orange\u201d color. These possible contrasts creates a super cool look and makes Krishna Candle Day ink fun to tinker and experiment with.<\/p>\n

Conclusion about the\u00a0Krishna Candle Day Ink<\/h2>\n

If you like orange, Krishna Candle Day ink is a must have. If you don\u2019t have orange colored ink in your collection, this ink may be the color for you. It comes across dark, but with some super nice shading and sheening traits. Krishna Candle Day ink is very reasonably priced being an imported ink that comes direct to us from India.
