Krishna Grapes Ink is part of the Krishna Super Rich inks<\/a>, which come in over 30 colors and continues to expand. Crafted by Dr. Sreekumar, Krishna inks are known their variation and characteristics. Krishna inks are known for their small and simple packages but fabulous inks found inside. There are a number of different \u201cseries\u201d of inks produced by Dr. Sreekumar such as the standard line of inks know as the Super Rich series to the Krishna RC super sheen inks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our review of Krishna Grapes ink produced a very smooth, consistent medium shade of purple color, not too light and not too dark. Using Krishna Grapes ink, the written line is a nice saturated line and the ink has great flow. Krishna Grapes ink is not a deep dark purple like a Waterman Tender Purple ink or a Diamine Imperial Purple.<\/a>\u00a0It is also brighter and not as dusty as a Robert Oster Australian Opal Mauve<\/a>. The ink is somewhat between these inks and\u00a0 has a nice pleasing color.<\/p>\n

Krishna Grapes Ink<\/p><\/div>\n

During our review of Krishna Grapes ink we found the following characteristics that you may find useful:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

For our review of Krishna Grapes ink we used a French made J. Herbin glass dip pen on French made Rhodia dot pad paper. The glass dip pen, has a tip that is similar to using a fine fountain pen nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

All Krishna inks<\/a> come in a small 20 ml. glass bottle with a good sized lid and opening. Each bottle comes with a simple corrugated cardboard box with no additional labeling on the package other than handwriting regarding the ink inside.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Krishna Super Rich series of inks, including Krishna Grapes ink retails in America for $8.00, making it a very affordable ink choice. Taking into consideration each bottle of Krishna ink is imported from India the cost becomes even more reasonable, allowing our customers to pick up a variety of new and exciting Krishna ink colors. Other Krishna series of inks, such as RC, Masters and Kot-Massi, retail for a reasonable $9.00 per bottle.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

We found a dry time of approximately 7-9 seconds while testing Krishna Grapes ink. This is a little longer than some other Krishna Super Rich series inks, but with the nice medium saturation of Krishna inks, the dry time is quite reasonable.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

Even though Krishna Grapes ink has a medium to high saturation, we still did not notice any bleeding during normal use while testing this ink. Even during our cotton swab tests, there was not additional bleeding.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

We found no feathering or line distortion throughout our review of Krishna Grapes ink during normal use. Even during our water test, we found only some very slight feathering. This ink held up quite well for non-waterproof ink.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

During our water test, where we ran a wet cotton swab over an ink sample of Krishna Grapes ink that has dried for about 3 minutes, we found some color smearing but no additional bleeding and only very slight additional feathering. This is to be expected for non waterproof ink and the lines remained clear and distinct throughout.<\/p>\n

Shading & Sheening<\/h2>\n

Krishna Grapes ink is not sheening ink but does have some great shading traits. Although with the medium to high saturation, we found that the lines were very consistent using the finer tipped dip pen and thus not a lot of shading was noticed until we used the cotton swab. Different nibs, paper and writing styles will produce different results.<\/p>\n

Conclusion about the\u00a0Krishna Grapes Ink<\/h2>\n

Krishna inks have been a hit in 2018 and sell very well, so well we\u00a0have a hard time keeping inventory to meet the demand. New inks, such as Krishna Grapes ink, are being released each month and each has its own new traits, colors or tendencies. Dr. Shreekumar is a master ink creator who has committed to continue honing his craft producing fantastic ink colors and traits that customers want. Krishna Grapes ink is a nice new variation of purple that writes very well, is clean and consistent and has come good traits, such as dry time, saturation, color and cost.
