Recently released by Pelikan within the last couple of years, the Pelikan Stola III is relatively new and available as both a fountain pen and rollerball pen.<\/p>\n

Pelikan Stola III Fountain Pen Review<\/p><\/div>\n

The Pelikan Stola III<\/a> is available only in one color and one nib size. This shouldn’t be a deterrent, however, as the color it comes in is a classy silver with black trim. The clip is in the shape of a pelican’s bill, as usual, but is in a slightly different open style than usual. Pelikan’s logo is embossed on the top of the cap, also. Overall, it’s a simplistic design, but still very elegant.<\/p>\n

Qualities<\/h2>\n

Arguably the greatest quality about the Pelikan Stola III Fountain Pen is that is is a Pelikan<\/a>\u00a0for less than $40 USD! Rather than taking our word for it, here is what one of our customers said about the quality of the Stola III: “A Pelikan nib for less than $40.00? Pinch me, I’m dreaming. Wow, it’s true! A friend had recommended Pelikan pens and I was looking for one that was affordable to try it out. Very nice pen. Good, solid construction. Very simple design. After the requisite flush of the new pen, it has performed flawlessly. Lays down a nice wet line without being too wet. The black outline “beak” clip is cool. The word “matte” is used in the description, but there is a glossy finish over those layers of matte silver. Lot’s of depth. Very happy with it. AND, you can never go wrong making a purchase at Pen Chalet!”<\/p>\n

Performance<\/h2>\n

For this review, we inked the pen with\u00a0Krishna Wild Cherry ink<\/a>. Although the nib is a medium, it’s true the rest of the Pelikan flock. It tends to write a little more broad than your typical medium. Also, the pen writes amazingly smooth and just glides along the page on the ink. You can see in the writing samples pictured that you can even get some shading out of this nib. Definitely a great choice for beginners, or for growing your flock.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, we highly recommend the Pelikan Stola III Fountain Pen for beginners and collectors alike! You can’t get that quality Pelikan nib anywhere else for that low of a price.
