Monteverde Prima Fountain Pen Review with Pen and Case<\/p><\/div>\n

The Monteverde Prima Fountain Pen is a regular full-sized pen, with multiple color options. For this review we used the Black\/Yellow Swirl Monteverde Prima. The pen color we reviewed has a\u00a0yellow swirl pattern on a black acrylic resin body. Also, the pen has chrome accents on the cap, and finial. The nib is a standard stainless steel Monteverde #6 nib.<\/p>\n

Qualities<\/h2>\n

The Monteverde Prima comes in at $85 USD Retail, but it is currently on sale. Monteverde Pens tend to be dry writers, but that can easily be fixed with a good cleaning using some Pen Chalet Pen Flush<\/a> and Pen Chalet Brass Shims<\/a>. The Monteverde Prima is a cartridge\/converter pen, which will allow you to use either cartridges or a bottle of ink.<\/p>\n

Performance<\/h2>\n

Now we come to the moment of truth. How does it write? Although Monteverde nibs tend to be dry writers, this pen had great flow and wrote beautifully. For this review, we inked up a Monteverde Prima with some Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgr\u00fcn<\/a>. The pen rested well in the hand, although this will vary depending on your hand size. Overall, we’d give the Monteverde Prima Fountain Pen an A+ for performance.<\/p>\n
