Robert Oster Melon Tea Ink: Even with over 80 ink colors, Robert Oster Signature Inks continue to produce unique color variations. Robert Oster inks are known for unique names, simple packaging and sought after ink colors.<\/p>\n

Robert Oster Melon Tea ink is a nice brown color with just a hint of green. Another brown green ink we have reviewed is the Sailor Rikyu-Cha<\/a>. While the Rijyu-Cha\u00a0is heavy on the green, the Robert Oster Melon Tea is more brown. Robert Oster Melon Tea ink shows up well on paper, and as most Robert Oster inks<\/a>, has great writing characteristics.<\/p>\n

While testing Robert Oster Melon Tea ink we found the following characteristics that you may find helpful:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

For this review we used a French made J. Herbin dip pen on Rhodia dot pad paper. The dip pen has a tip that is equivalent to a fine fountain pen nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

All Robert Oster inks come in a simple environmentally friendly clear 50 ml. plastic bottle. Each bottle has Robert Oster\u2019s Signature Ink<\/a> gold seal on the front with a small white label on the cap. The cap also has an inkblot of the actual ink to see the color. The bottle is simple, but effective and functional.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Melon Tea ink is a mid-ranged priced ink, retailing for $17.00. The 50 ml bottle is a reasonable value, especially considering each bottle is hand made in Australia and imported to the United States.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Melon Tea ink has a typical quick dry time for Robert Oster inks of about 5-6 seconds. Again this is using a glass dip pen on Rhodia paper and you can expect a longer dry time with larger nib.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

During our review we experienced absolutely no bleeding while testing Robert Oster Melon Tea ink, even during the cotton swab test.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

During normal use, we did not experience any feathering on Rhodia paper. However, during the water test, there was some feathering at the test\u2019s wettest point.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

During our water test, where we ran a wet cotton swab over an ink sample that we let dry for about three minutes, we founds some color smearing, line distortion and feathering. Robert Oster Melon Tea ink is not a waterproof ink and the results are typical for such inks.<\/p>\n

Shading<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster inks are known for their shading and sometimes sheening characteristics. Melon Tea ink is no different and will produce nice shading with a dark brown to a lighter golden brown\/olive color. During the wettest part of the cotton swab test a slight bit of black sheening also came through.<\/p>\n

Conclusion about the\u00a0Robert Oster Melon Tea Ink<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Melon Tea ink is a unique brown color, writes dark allowing it to be used as an everyday color. It has nice shading and dries quickly. The price is reasonable for this imported ink.<\/p>\n
