This remarkable ink company has come up with not only 69 ink variations, but 69 super cool and unique names for their ink creations. Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink is one such example of name creativity.<\/p>\n

How would you describe a unique brown-yellow color with a tint of orange? You probably wouldn\u2019t call it \u201cbrown-yellow\u201d as it’s not creative enough. \u201cBrown mustard\u201d doesn\u2019t sound too appealing either. Robert Oster<\/a> calls this color \u201cMarrone Mustard\u201d, a perfect name and description for this distinctive ink color. Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink is a nice dark brown yellow color, almost a dark gold color ink that shows dark on paper, has good saturation and performs very well.<\/p>\n

We detected the following qualities while testing Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink that you might find useful:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

We used a fine tipped glass dip pen, made by J. Herbin Pen Company on Rhodia Bloc paper for this evaluation.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink comes in a basic tall 50 ml. plastic bottle, which is identical to all Robert Oster ink colors. The basic bottle has a plastic ribbed screw on cap with a white label on top, which identifies the color of ink. Additionally, each label has a small blot of the ink that the bottle contains inside.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink retails in the United States for $16.00. Please note that Robert Oster inks will have a price increase starting in June, 2017 and will retail for $17.00 per bottle. Therefore, although not Robert Oster ink is not a budget ink, it\u2019s a pretty reasonably priced for an Australian imported ink<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Signature Inks<\/a> are known for their good dry times, but Marrone Mustard is fantastic. Using the glass dip pen on Rhodia paper we experienced a 3 second or less dry time. Obviously with a larger nib your dry time will be extended, but less than three seconds with any pen is fantastic.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink has absolutely no bleeding whatsoever, even during the cotton swab test.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

We did not observe any feathering during normal use. All the ink lines were clear and distinct using Rhodia bloc paper. There was some line distortion during the water test.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

We conducted a water test where we ran a wet cotton swab over an ink sample. The results were what you would expect with a non-water proof ink, color smearing, line distortion and feathering, but only at the wettest point.<\/p>\n

Shading<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink produces lots of nice shading, with the dark brown shade to a lighter yellow\/brown shade.<\/p>\n

Conclusion about the Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink<\/h2>\n

Robert Oster Marrone Mustard ink is a unique color, has a super fast dry time, has fantastic shading, yet dark enough for use in the office or journals, notes, letters and the like. Marrone Mustard\u2019s name is as unique as the color.<\/p>\n
