Noodlers Tchaikovsky Ink is one of Noodlers \u201cRussian\u201d series ink colors and is named after the famed Russian Composer, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Russian series, including Tchaikovsky, has all the wonderful Noodlers characteristics that many look for, bulletproof, eternal, forgery resistant and waterproof. Noodlers Tchaikovsky is also fluorescent and will glow under UV light. Noodlers Tchaikovsky is a light purple color that is very pleasing, as is Tchaikovsky\u2019s music, and can be used for permanent writing purposes such as journal writing due to its archival fade resistant qualities. Being bulletproof, Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink is bleach resistant, UV resistant, impervious to lasers, alcohol and other solvents and is thus forgery proof. Other Russian series inks include: Dostoyevsky, Chekhov, Tolstoy, Pushkin, Rachmaninoff and a few other ink colors.<\/p>\n

We found the following traits while reviewing Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink, which you may find useful:<\/p>\n

Testing Factors<\/h2>\n

We used a J. Herbin glass dip pen on Rhodia Bloc N. 18 paper. The glass dip pen has a tip equivalent to a fine nib.<\/p>\n

Bottle Sizes<\/h2>\n

Noodlers inks<\/a> come in a standard square 3.0 oz glass bottle. The simple bottle, which is functional but plain, keeps the cost down for Noodlers ink and remains a great value. Noodlers<\/a> always fills their ink bottles to the absolute brim, making sure you do not loose out on any drops of ink. Beware, you may spill a drop or two if you are not careful when you first open it.<\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

Noodlers ink remains a great value for the wonderful qualities Noodlers ink provides, the tremendous amount of colors and characteristics. Most Noodlers 3.0 oz. ink bottles retail for $12.50, however some of the specialty colors such as the Russian Series inks, including Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink, retail for $18.50 per 3.0 oz. bottle.<\/p>\n

Dry Time<\/h2>\n

Using the J. Herbin glass dip pen<\/a>, the dry time using Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink was a lightning fast 1-2 seconds. A larger nib may produce a longer dry time, but not much.<\/p>\n

Bleed Through<\/h2>\n

During normal use with the glass dip pen, we did not experience any bleeding. However, with the cotton swab there was some slight bleeding when the cotton swab was at its wettest point.<\/p>\n

Feathering<\/h2>\n

There may be a ever slight feathering noticeable under a magnifying glass when using the glass dip pen on Rhodia paper with Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink. To the naked eye, no feathering was apparent, even under the water test.<\/p>\n

Water Test<\/h2>\n

We ran a soaking wet cotton swab over a Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink sample and the ink held up wonderfully well. There was no perceptible color smearing, or feathering. Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink is a waterproof ink.<\/p>\n

Shading<\/h2>\n

Using the glass dip pen on Rhodia paper, Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink was pretty consistent, without a lot of shading characteristics.<\/p>\n

Conclusion about the Noodlers Tchaikovsky ink<\/h2>\n

The Noodlers Russian Series inks, including Tchaikovsky ink has wonderful properties, such as being waterproof, and a super quick dry time.
