The Aurora Trilobiti Limited Edition fountain pens feature 18kt solid gold nibs plated to coordinate with elegant satin trim highlighting the cap and barrel's transparent resins.
The Aurora Trilobiti Collection is inspired by the transparencies of marine animal fossils left behind by animals extinct over 65 million years ago. The harmony found in the typical wrapped spiral shape of marine animal fossils and their divine proportions inspired the new Limited Edition Aurora collection.
Aurora Trilobiti Limited Edition Collection fountain pens are packaged in an elegant case in black lacquered wood, and comes paired with a special bottle of sepia ink.

Demonstrator pens are not for everyone, but if they are in one’s wheelhouse, the this is the most beautiful example I have ever held. My pen journey started 2o years ago with an Aurora Ipsilon, which I thought was extravagant for an entry into the hobby. I was drawn to Aurora’s history, and having lived in Torino, it was a great -lace to star. Over the years many purchases and many disappointments have entered my collection after I snapped that Ipsilon in half one fateful day! I will say I have been lulled by the Japanese grail pens all do be dissatisfied with cheap ink converters ruining what could have been beautiful works of art. Here I am, back to the beginning and back to not just a beautiful pen, but one that exudes Italian engineering and designs that blew the rest away with its first inking and writing.
The build quality is phenomenal. The materials are spectacular, the filling system is worthy of a pen at this price point and it writes like a dream. Of all my nib experiments, the Aurora Medium is by far, the one that works for me and has proven consistent, skip free and dry start free since I opened the box yesterday.
I am so happy that Pen Chalet had this very model in a Medium and I am very fortunate to have found myself in a position to acquire it from them. Shipping was quick and packaging was very protective of the contents.
Again, if demonstrators are not ones, style, a standard 88 is definitely a pen to eventually have in one’s collection, but it may just become a daily carry after the first page is written, leaving the rest to be viewed for their beauty and sentimental value. This Aurora 88 in the Trilobiti Cobalto trim checks all of the boxes for me. This is a solid, functioning pen, made with exceptional materials and build that I can say is absolutely a trait the fine people of Torino put forth in all of the goods they produce.
If one asks, why is an $800 plus dollar pen an excellent product value, I would be more than happy to show more than one in my collection of equal or greater value pens that don’t come close to Aurora’s performance, value and looks.
