Monteverde Intima Series Fountain Pens Reviews

I got 4 of these... Not a single one writes well. They all skip and dry out after a couple hours. One of them twists the Converter while screwing the body on and off. They look great and feel great but are completely unusable.

I got the green version for a very good price from Pen Chalet and it's a very pretty pen with the sexy stealth look in the black nibs (I got two) and hardware. Excellent weight and posted, it's great balance.
So it's totally worth even the regular retail price if you like very stiff nibs. It's a nail either in EF or stub. It does skate nicely over the paper, no skips, good dependability, and a classy smooth writer. But the nibs are both a bit dry, yet that makes the stub a little easier to get an italic line from. I wish the cap had a metal band on the bottom to protect it (see other MV pens), but it's a nice pen, and if you like the stiff, smooth nib, get it and enjoy.

Great Pen. I got the Pink and put pink ink in it. I love the color and the black accents make it a beautiful pen that stands out.

Love it! I ordered this in pink, and I will say it is pinker thank the image here (which looks purple to me). Design is absolutelybeautiful, writes very smoothly (fine nib). Ink flow is steady, no hard starts. My only regret is that I didn't order the green as well!

The colors and shimmer on this pen are stunning. The weight is wonderful when capped. Aesthetically, this pen is beautifully put together.

I also really liked that the converter was included!

This pen is pure magic. It's my first real (non-entry level) pen, and it's more than I could have expected. First of all, the converter is huge! I wasn't expecting so much ink to sneak itself inside this pen. As you can see in the image, it is very slightly transparent, which is both a nice touch for the ice aesthetic, and also a great tool for noticing if Ink is dripping into the cap. The pen writes smooth as butter, and I have had no issues with the build quality even though it is not made of metal. I'm not sure how the threading on the barrel will hold up after years of abuse, but I'm not expecting issues. One huge factor to note is how gorgeous it is in person. Honestly I was a feeling a little buyer's remorse after getting it, but after seeing the sheen that the whole body has in person, I was taken away. Photographs really don't do it justice.

Never owned a Monteverde pen until a recent purchase of Intima series "Glacier Blue" model when sale and discounts made purchase irresistible. All four choices offered for the intima series have an unusually attractive (at least to me) style and color. Pen was temporarily out of stock, but nice conversion with John (who returned my after hours call early the next morning) was reassuring and pleasant. Also bought a bottle of Waterman "Mysterious Blue" ink to put total over $50 and receive "Free postage over $50" discount. More stores should have this. Makes me look at Pen Chalet first when seeking a product. Packaging was excellent and pen functioned flawlessly out of the box. (I did flush it before inking as has been recommended). Fine(F) nib is a just right fine and pleasantly smooth. The pen is quite light and posting makes it unbalanced. Has a natural fit to grip and comfortable positon to hold. The pen material is actually clear/frosted which was a surprise because all the pics look like color is opaque. Went back to look at pic after receiving and the "clear" aspect IS visible if you know what to look for (converter, black section), but only on the "Glacier blue" model. Supplied converter (Thanks!) worked smoothly and filled readily. Unless the barrel is really screwed tightly to the section, a plastic squeak/click and motion between the two occurs when writing. I worry about eventual cracking from the effort required. A warranty can be registered online per instructions in the pen box. Had to be careful when screwing on the cap as it seemed to be easy to cross thread. Probably gets better with use. Glad I made the purchase of this attractive pen. These pens are available elsewhere but Pen Chalet had the best deal plus excellent customer service. Signed up for newsletter and "Special Offers" including coupon for 10% off next purchase. Fantastic Pen, inked with Sailor Jentle Grenade it writes extremely smoothly with the Fine Nib. The only issue I have is the colour of the swirls in the Volcano Grey are more light orange and pink in the pen I received, instead of the deep orange and red shown on the web site.
