J Herbin Spiral Glass Dip Pens Reviews
This is glass art, and I keep mine visible. The surprise may be how good a writer these are. I use quills, nibs, bamboo, etc., and this thing holds an AMAZING amount of ink - you can lay-down several words at one dip, even if you write large. Point can be "tuned" with fine abrasize, if needed. Mine was good to go. Practice with getting the right amount of ink in the grooves, and you will be happy.

Attractive object but nothing special. It writes as expected.

Overpriced and doesn't perform as advertised. You can barely write a word and don't trust the ink flutes because they will dump ink on the page even after getting the excess off.

This pen is fabulous. I have many fountain pens in my collection but I find writing with a dip pen to be the most satisfying writing experience. This probably stems from my background in Medieval calligraphy. A beautiful pen that performs very well. I would say it conforms to a medium-broad nib fountain pen. A wonderful writing experience.

I am so happy I finally bought a dip pen. It makes trying a million ink samples super fast and clean. Or if you want to simply use an ink for a little bit and not have to clean a pen, its great for writing a page or two. Also the pictures don't do this glass pen justice, it's beautiful.

It’s a pretty and novel writing utensil. It’s a great way to test inks with.

This review is for J. Hirbin spiral glass dip pen: I love the shape and the good gripping of the pen. Compared with a Rohrer-Kolinger or vintage crystal glass dip pens, I had to re-dip the pen more frequently. And it feels a tad more scratchy when writing. After polishing the writing tip with a #600 sand paper it wrote more smoothly. I like both models, but I prefer R-K pen for more uniform writing with less line variations.
