And this is the Waterman Carene Fountain Pen. It is a metal pen, all-metal cap and barrel with a nice, glossy, black finish. This is the one with the chrome-colored accents. You can see the simple cap goes to almost a point and it has a chrome-colored spring-loaded clip. You can see the Waterman, you can see that clip actually a little bit better from the side. It does have the Waterman W logo there at the top of the clip with a little hole or section where it's cut out.
At the bottom of the cap is a small chrome-colored band. It has Waterman engraved on the front side and France on the back. And then the bottom has a unique shape to it. It goes to somewhat of a point, and it has this chrome color section with a black, glossy medallion there in the center of the pen, at the bottom of the barrel.
The cap on the pen snaps on and off. It can be posted. I prefer either way with this pen. It doesn't feel too bad with it posted. It's balanced fairly well. You can see the small chrome section between the grip section and the rest of the pen, and it has a glossy, black, resin grip section. And it has a unique shape and style to the pen. The 18-carat gold has a Waterman logo on that as well.
The feed on the pen is pretty much all hidden inside. You don't see any of that. It's all streamlined. This is a cartridge converter-style pen so to unscrew the grip section from the barrel, you can the ink on the pen. It does come with a Waterman ink converter, if you'd like to use bottled inks. It also accepts a cartridge as well, if you'd like to use cartridge inks. They provide you with quite a few cartridges that happens to be the Serenity Blue Waterman ink
And it also comes with a use and care guide for the pen underneath the false bottom of the box. Kind of a unique style. That nib is a little different than most fountain pens. I do like the look of it and the feel of the pen. Get your Waterman Carene Fountain Pen at PenChalet.com!

Waterman Carene Video Script
This is the Waterman Carene Fountain Pen. The pen comes in a blue, hard outer shell box. It has a light blue ribbon on the top of the box lid. You can see on that ribbon on one side is printed in gold, Waterman Paris. and then on the opposite side is stitched the Waterman W logo. The box has a hinged top with a nice, soft velvet interior and the underside of the lid is simply just a Styrofoam, keeps the pen in position and keeps it from getting scratched when the lid is shut. And this is the Waterman Carene Fountain Pen. Waterman Carene Reviews
This is one of the pens that when I first got into the hobby, I admired from the get go. It took me four years to get around to purchasing it for myself, and once I had it in my hands I instantly regretted not having done so sooner. I adore this pen. I love how it looks in the hand, and more than that, how it writes. The nib is as smooth as a glass sea, and the detailing is inspired. I reach for it as much as I do my beloved Lamy 2000, and indeed when I travel, it's the Carené that comes with me more than most. An unsung hero of the FP world, yes - but worth every praise.

My Carene is the best, smoothest writing pen I've ever owned. And I've owned many. The nib glides like silk across the paper delivering a nice even flow of ink. It never skips or hesitates. This pen is well worth the investment and I highly recommend it.

This is my favorite pen. I love the look of it and it writes like a dream. I got the medium nib which i thoroughly enjoy. That nib just slides across the paper on a lush liquid line. I cannot say enough about this pen. It is the most I have paid for a fountain pen thus far but it is well worth the money.

I started with fine point and found it scratchy. Ron replaced it with a medium which is better, but still not great. I have been very disappointed with the Carene. Having Waterman's from years back when they were made in France, I find this is not the quality of pen I expected at this price. Would not recommend. I have several other fountain pens so this review is based on experience. Would love for Waterman rep to give me a call to rectify my concerns.
