Pilot Fermo Collection Video Script

This is the Pilot Fermo fountain pen. It comes in a nice blue leather case that has the Pilot logo embossed in silver on the top. The box has a hinged top. On the underside of the lid is the Pilot logo once again printed in silver on a satin fabric and has a nice felt bed the pen sits in.

This is the blue version of the Pilot Fermo fountain pen. It comes with chrome accents throughout the pen. On the top of the pen is has a chrome cap to it and has a knurled section here. This little grip section is what you use to extend the nib on the Fermo fountain pen. You simply twist that end section and then nib extends out of the front end of the pen.

Between that section that you twist and the rest the barrel there's a small chrome colored band. Then in the middle of the pen there's two chrome bands that run around the pen. On the backside and we have printed Pilot Fermo Japan. Then we have a nice big chrome clip and then just a chrome tip or end to the pen.

The pen is a cartridge converter style pen so to change the ink you simply untwist the pen and remove the top portion of the pen. Then you can pull the whole nib section from the body of the pen. Now the converter is already attached to the pen so it’s able to use bottled inks. You would pull that out and dip the nib in your ink bottle. To put this nib section back in and you want to align the near with that little section that's missing where there's no threads. You align that correctly so that will slide in. There is actually a little groove here on the chassis that slides in so you know you've aligned the nib correctly. Then you slide the cap back on and screw that securely into place.

Now underneath the false bottom of box we also have included with the pen an ink cartridge and the use and care guide for the Pilot Fermo fountain pen.

This pen is a pretty unique pen the way that it's a capless pen so that the nib simply retracts into the body of the pen. It's a great looking pen. Get your Pilot Fermo fountain pen at PenChalet.com!

What is there to say about the Pilot Fermo...I have 4 of them and all are equally great. Pilot definitely knows how to make a nib for their pens--the extra fine nib lays out a fine line that no other pen seems to do. Not only is it easy to write with (I thought having the clip right above the nib would be bothers, but it is not, it actually is a help to remind you which way to put pen to paper.

Being a fan of the Pilot Vanishing Point, the Fermo seemed like a step up (particularly in price), but I have been thoroughly pleased. I've found the Fermo to be my go-to recently and I love writing with it.

The finish and feel of this pen is astounding as everything is as it should be and I never feel that something is cheaply made or assembled.

Granted the mechanism for this pen is a twist versus click, if you are debating between the Fermo and the Vanishing Point, my best differentiation would be in style alone. The Fermo is a bit more classy and sleek in my opinion (where the VP could be a bit awkward) and is bound to turn more heads.

Thanks Pen Chalet!
